Green Fast Track for Housing would streamline the development process for small- and medium-sized residential developments by adopting a new Type II rule under SEQRA and CEQR to exempt housing developments up to a certain size from further environmental review by the Mayor’s Office.
On April 16, 2021, the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Housing and Economic Development issued the Final Scope of Work for an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for this project, the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS), and the Notice of Completion for the DEIS.
On March 5, 2021, the Office of the Deputy Mayor for Housing and Economic Development issued the Notice of Completion for the Final Second Supplemental Generic Environmental Impact Statement, marking the completion of the project’s CEQR environmental review.
On July 31, 2020, the ODMHED issued the Notice of Completion for the Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement, marking the completion of the project’s CEQR environmental review.
New 6 NYCRR Part 617 State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR), regulations became effective January 1, 2019. The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) has adopted amendments to the Type I and Type II lists of actions, as well as the scoping and acceptance procedures for draft environmental impact statements. DEC has also modernized the regulations related to web publication of documents. These changes are the first major amendments to the SEQR regulations that DEC made since 1996.
