Existing Conditions and Brownfields Analysis Studies

The Mayor's Office of Environmental Remediation encourages community-based organizations (CBOs) to undertake planning activities to address revitalization of vacant contaminated land--brownfields--in their communities. To support community planners, OER used grant funding from the NYS Department of State to conduct studies of the land use, land vacancy and other existing conditions in low income or disadvantaged neighborhoods designated by community members. We anticipate the studies will be used to leverage further planning work and public and private investment to achieve cleanup and redevelopment.
