Jessica Mofield is the Executive Director of the NYC Mayor's Office to Prevent Gun Violence. Prior to joining OPGV, she worked at Counseling Service of Eastern District of New York, where she served as a Substance Abuse Clinician and coordinated clients from ACS and federal probation. She earned a Master's degree in Counseling for Mental Health and Wellness from New York University. Ms. Mofield also holds a license as a LMHC and Bachelor of Science in Psychology.
Cana Osborne is a Community Coordinator at the NYC Mayor's Office to Prevent Gun Violence. Prior to joining OPGV, she served as a Public Health Sanitarian with the New York City Department of Health. Proudly born and raised in New York City Housing Authority, she began her professional career as a community organizer within NYCHA's Community Operations Department where she worked on several key initiatives to increase the health and vibrancy of vulnerable communities. Ms. Osborne holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Seton Hall University as well as a Master's Degree in Urban Studies with an Advanced Certificate in Public Administration and Public Policy from the CUNY School of Labor and Urban Studies.
Amber Benoit is a Community Coordinator with the Mayor's Office to Prevent Gun Violence. Prior to joining OPGV, Ms. Benoit worked as a Paralegal in the Juvenile Rights Practice of the Legal Aid Society. During her time there, Ms. Benoit worked as an advocate for at risk youth and children who were before the family court on child protective cases. She also led the implementation of community initiatives to provide residents with access to health care, education, employment, and social service opportunities. Ms. Benoit received her Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science in Criminal Justice from Virginia State University.
Ayanna Cole-Hector is a Community Coordinator with the Mayor's Office to Prevent Gun Violence. Prior to joining the team, Ms. Cole-Hector previously worked with the Office of Public Safety at the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services. During her time there, she was tasked to ensure state and local law enforcement, correctional officers, peace officers and other enforcement entities of New York State were provided with the appropriate training and resources to fulfill the responsibilities of their role. She also provided oversight of private security firms and their compliance with New York State standards. Ms. Cole-Hector attended SUNY University at Albany where she obtained both her Bachelor's and Master of Arts degree in Criminal Justice with a specialization in Crime Causation, Prevention, and Intervention. Ms. Cole - Hector also holds certification in Homeland Security, Cyber Security and Emergency Preparedness.
