Flushing South

Flushing was founded in 1645. The settlement was named after the city of Vlissingen, in the southwestern Netherlands, the main port of the company; Flushing is an Anglicization of the Dutch name that was then in use. Portions of the 11364, 11365, 11366 and 11367 zip codes of Flushing are located within Community Board 8.
