Violence Interrupter Expansion

In 2021, the City expanded its Crisis Management System (CMS) by doubling the number of violence interrupters working across 31 CMS sites. The expansion addresses public safety concerns by deploying credible messengers to mediate conflicts and engage with New Yorkers in their communities to reduce reliance on violence to end disputes.
