Commuter Van Passenger Bill of Rights
You have the right to:
- Ride in a van that is clean, in good condition, and has passed all required inspections
- Working seat belts for all passengers - please use them!
- Be driven by a TLC-licensed driver in good standing, with his/her TLC driver's license on display
- A safe and courteous driver who obeys all traffic laws
- A knowledgeable driver who is familiar with the areas where the van is authorized to provide service
- A quiet trip, free of horn-honking and audio/radio noise
- Receive a fare quote from the dispatcher and pay that amount for your ride
- A smoke and scent free ride
- Air-conditioning or heat on request
- Decline to tip for poor service
For Commuter Van owners
Since November 22, 2010, the commuter van rules have required the Commuter Van Passenger's Bill of Rights (pictured below) to be displayed in a protective holder behind the front passenger seat. The Bill of Rights can be purchased from:
