GET BACK TO BUILDING INITIATIVE LAUNCHES TO ACCELERATE DEVELOPMENT
Program Will Jumpstart Thousands of Projects & Create Jobs Citywide
On May 4, 2015 the Department of Buildings will launch Get Back To Building, an initiative intended to get delayed jobs back on track and construction workers back to work. Throughout the month of May, applicants can meet after hours with plan examiners to resolve objections and to get their construction applications moved to approval. An important feature of the Get Back To Building program is the interagency collaborative effort, which reduces unnecessary trips to multiple agencies during application process.
Over the next month, the Department is available to licensed architects and engineers, developers, filing representatives and property owners whose projects have not yet been approved and have outstanding objections from previous Department plan examinations. As in past initiatives, agency experts will work with the applicants during these sessions to resolve plan objections and develop solutions in order to approve new buildings as well as major and minor alterations.
Beginning April 20, 2015, applicants can schedule a Get Back To Building appointment by emailing GetBackToBuilding@buildings.nyc.gov. Appointments vary by borough but will be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, or Thursdays in May. Additional information is available at www.nyc.gov/buildings, however it is important to note, that applicants of record must be present at the appointment. Appointments for projects filed electronically through the Development Hub or Hub Full-Service will be held virtually. See Flyer.
