Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies

If you are a child care provider, or are thinking about becoming a child care provider, New York City has four Child Care Resource and Referral agencies (CCRR) that can provide trainings and technical assistance to help you. Services are available to both center and home-based types of care.

Women’s Housing and Economic Development Corporation (WHEDco)

WHEDco offers home-based providers with professional development, financial trainings and technical assistance, support with the Child and Adult Food Program (CACFP), and more.

Family Child C.A.R.E. NYC

Family Child Care providers seeking assistance with administrative, financial, community relations, their early learning environment, or supporting the needs of the children in their care can receive complimentary support through Family Child C.A.R.E. NYC. Providers can submit a request for support.

Workforce Development

CUNY’s Professional Development Institute offers career advancement, coaching and professional development, trainings and credentialing for educators across the early childhood spectrum, including Informal Child Care providers. Scholarships may also be available.

CUNY’s School of Professional Studies (SPS) also offers Early Childhood Certificate programs including the Children’s Program Administrator Credential (CPAC) and Child Development Associate. CUNY SPS also offers scholarships for students.

The Educational Incentive Program (EIP) is a scholarship program that helps child care providers pay for training and educational activities. To be eligible for EIP, child care providers must be required to take training and must be caring for children in a program regulated by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (NYS OCFS) or the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC DOHMH).
