Zero Waste Plan
Local Law 87 of 2023 requires DSNY to create a zero waste plan and to increase waste diversion from landfill and incineration through waste reduction, reuse, and recycling. It also requires DSNY to report annually on the City’s progress toward these goals and submit the annual report to the Mayor, Speaker of the City Council, District Manager of each Community Board, and to each Solid Waste Advisory Board.
