The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation's regulations governing solid waste management facilities, in general, and transfer stations, specifically, require that vectors be controlled and the techniques used must be protective of human health and the environment.
At our Marine Transfer Stations, we use pesticides in accordance with all applicable state and federal law, and they are applied by licensed, fully trained applicators. We maintain maintenance logs of all pesticide applications, and post information on their use at the Southwest Brooklyn Marine Transfer Station publicly, including the dates of pesticide applications, locations where pesticides were applied, and which pesticide products were used.
