The Healthy Families program is to support and strengthen families using a holistic, strengths-based approach based on the principles of family development.
Using a strength-based, case management approach, which is based on the principles of family development, programs address the particular needs of each participant. Case management includes working with the family to assess strengths, needs, and resources; developing an individualized strategy to meet short and long-term goals; and following up with the family to determine whether goals have been met and/or needs have changed. Programs assist families in accessing resources for identified needs, including domestic violence, substance abuse, health and nutrition. Programs also provide advocacy and assistance in obtaining government benefits, housing, education and employment, and other social services.
