Work, Learn & Grow offers NYC youth between the ages of 16 and 20 a paid 22-week-long opportunity to strengthen their work-readiness skills, explore postsecondary education and careers, and potentially earn college credit.

WLG Eligibility Requirements

Special Initiatives WLG Programming

  • Between the ages of 16 and 20 years old
  • Enrolled in high school or a high school equivalency program
  • A participant of Special Initiatives SYEP 2024
  • NYC Resident legally allowed to work in the U.S.

If you qualify for SI WLG, please contact your SYEP Provider for assistance with the application process!

  • CareerReady WLG 
  • Between the ages of 16 and 19 years old
  • Enrolled in a CR-partnered high school
  • A participant of CareerReady SYEP 2024
  • NYC Resident legally allowed to work in the U.S. 

  • You may qualify for CareerReady WLG if you are between the ages of 16 and 19 as of October 28, 2024, enrolled in a public high school, and were a participant of CareerReady SYEP 2024.


  • You may qualify for Special Initiatives WLG if you are between the ages of 16 and 20 as of October 28, 2024, are currently enrolled in a high school or a high school equivalency program, and were a participant of Special Initiatives SYEP 2024.
