Community Risk Reduction
The New York City Fire Department has a deep understanding of the communities it serves. Through emergency responses, medical calls, fire inspections and simply being present in neighborhoods across all five boroughs, our firefighters and EMS professionals witness firsthand how New Yorkers live and the challenges they face. This unique perspective allows us to better protect, assist and advocate for the safety and well-being of all residents.
The FDNY's Community Risk Reduction (CRR) program is a proactive approach to enhancing public safety by identifying and prioritizing risks in local communities and then utilizing a variety of tools and data to form a strategic and integrated investment of resources focused on reducing the occurrence and impact.
