New York City Department of Buildings (DOB)
The New York City Department of Buildings (DOB) enforces the City's Construction Codes, Zoning Resolution, and the New York State Multiple Dwelling Law. DOB enforces compliance with these regulations and promotes and public safety through its review and approval of building plans, permitting and licensing functions, and inspections.

The New York City Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA) is the largest municipal funder of culture in the country and is committed to providing access to art and culture for all New Yorkers. New York City Board of Standards and Appeals (BSA)
The New York City Board of Standards and Appeals (BSA) is an integral part of the City's system for regulation of land use, development and construction and was established as an independent board to grant relief from the Zoning Code. The Board is empowered by the City Charter to interpret the meaning or applicability of the Zoning Resolution, Building and Fire Codes, Multiple Dwelling Law, and Labor Law. This power includes the ability to vary in certain instances the provisions of these regulations.

New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal (DHCR)
The New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal (DHCR) performs a number of activities, including oversight and regulation of the State's public and publically assisted rental housing; administration of the State's rent regulations and protection of rent regulated tenants. Once an owner is issued a residential certificate of occupancy from the NYC Department of Buildings and the Loft Board removes the building from its jurisdiction, the owner is required to register the building with HPD and DHCR and to offer leases to the rent regulated tenants.

New York State Department of State
Long known as the Keeper of Records, the New York State Department of State serves as the official compiler of state agency rules and regulations and publisher of information on the State Constitution, the Great Seal of New York and other official state documents. The Division of Corporations, State Records and UCC examines, files, and maintains numerous documents vital to business and state government including certificates of incorporation, and Uniform Commercial Code Article 9 financing statements

The Attorney General serves all New Yorkers in numerous matters affecting their daily lives. The Attorney General's Office is charged with the statutory and common law powers to protect, among others, tenants and property owners.

New York City Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings (OATH)
The mission of New York City Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings' (OATH) Trials Division is to provide fair and neutral administrative proceedings, which protect the due process rights of all litigants, including owners and tenants claiming rights under the Loft Law. Matters adjudicated at the Trials Division are akin to civil trials without a jury.
