CUNY Summer Internship Program

The Special Projects Team led the launch of our summer internship program with CUNY in 2021. Since then, the team has trained more than 200 interns from CUNY colleges on the Public Engagement Unit (PEU)'s innovative and grassroots outreach strategies, including targeted phone calls, peer-to-peer text messaging, and door-to-door canvassing. These outreach efforts help connect New York's most vulnerable residents with resources around housing, tenants' rights, eviction prevention, affordable health care, and more.
