In June 2021, NYCHA launched the Resident Roundtable to provide an opportunity for residents to help design the implementation of the Authority’s Transformation Plan.
The Roundtable consists of 32 residents who reflect NYCHA’s diverse population and represent each of the Authority’s “Neighborhood” portfolios. Its members provide valuable feedback and recommendations to implement the Transformation Plan. Roundtable members work in subcommittees, each focusing on a distinct issue area: Safety & Security, Quality of Life, Quality Assurance, and Management Practices.
The Citywide Council of Presidents (CCOP), the official citywide NYCHA resident organization, appointed five residents to the Roundtable. The remaining positions were chosen as part of a NYCHA-wide selection process open to all residents and voucher holders in PACT/RAD developments.
Each Roundtable member serves for two years. Their responsibilities include attending Roundtable and subcommittee meetings; getting input and ideas from their neighbors; making recommendations on NYCHA’s policies and programs; participating in the implementation of the Transformation Plan; as well as other areas of the Authority’s work.
