NYC Thinking Regionally is the periodic newsletter of the NYC Department of City Planning (DCP), delivering insightful analysis, thoughtful commentary and up-to-date information on the metro region. Read the latest issue here.

 

NYC Metro Planning Leadership Network

Since 2017, DCP has hosted the NYC Metro Planning Leadership Network, a voluntary organization that works to support a common vision of sustainable growth across the region. The network is made up of planning and development principals representing 30 member jurisdictions and one representative from the Regional Plan Association.

 

NYC Regional Food Working Group

The NYC Regional Food Working Group is a collaborative effort of DCP and the NYC Mayor’s Office of Food Policy. Founded during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic and the accompanying disruptions to the metro region’s food systems, the group builds and strengthens regional relationships to move New York City toward a more equitable, sustainable, and resilient food system for all its residents.

DCP facilitates participation in a collaborative planning forum to address transportation-related issues, develop regional plans, and make decisions on the use of federal funds in New York City, Long Island, and the lower Hudson Valley. Read the regional transportation plan here.
