We have just been informed that Edgemere Ave from Beach 32 street to Beach 38 street will be closed for re construction for up to 18 months
The board did oppose a summer closure of this important East-West roadway
Sadly NYC HPD and the Department of Transportation insisted on the project going foward starting Tomorrow, Wednesday July 19th

FY 2026 Capital and Expense Priority LIST

Important Information

The NYC Charter gives Community boards a number of responsibilities.

One of them is every fall Community boards are asked to recommend Capital and Expense budget priorities.
The Community board is planning to hold a public hearing at its September meeting and a public hearing and vote at its October meeting (Health conditions warranting).

The board is now accepting suggestions for CITY funded projects only in our District. You can send/email your suggestions to us at qn14@cb.nyc.gov for consideration.

Note: the Community board does NOT have direct ability to fund capital and expense projects we can only recommend them to the Mayor, City council and the Borough President

Community board 14 will be postponing its May 12th monthly meeting to later date please check website regularly for new date.

Note: Community board 14 will only accept SAPO/Block party permits for events that start after July 15th
If the Mayor cancels SAPO events for July or August we have been informed that applicants will receive a credit for the $25 fee towards another event.

Due to the health crisis Community board 14 District office will continue to NOT allow visitors to our District office when open.

Depending on what the Mayor or Governor decide we may be closing the office and working remotely.

Important Information - Did you know?

Starting Nov 7th, 2014 Speed limit in residential areas will be lowered to 25mph
You cannot park a commercial vehicle on a public street overnight or on residential property.
It is illegal to park an unlicensed or unregistered Car or Boat on your property
It is illegal to put your garbage out before 5pm the night before pick up
When it snows, you must shovel your sidewalk within 4 hours after the snow has stopped falling or by 11 AM if the snow stopped after 9 PM (Revised: March 30, 2015)
