Each Community Board has its own office, District Manager, and staff. The District Manager establishes an office, hires staff, and implements procedures to improve the delivery of City Services to the district. As District Manager I strive to ensure the delivery of the best quality service to the residents of the district and to keep you informed.
District Managers play many different roles. They are complaint takers, municipal managers, information sources, community organizers, mediators, advocates, and much more. The main responsibility of the District office is to receive and resolve complaints from community residents. We also process permits for block parties, street fairs, etc.
As defined in the official Charter of the City of New York, the Community Boards have an important advisory role in dealing with Land Use and Zoning Matters, the City budget, municipal service delivery, and many other matters relating to their communities' welfare.
We are here to improve the quality of life for all New Yorkers residing in their community. If you have any issues, problems, or inquiries regarding city services, and your community please feel free to contact us at the number below: 718-286-2686.
