Quality of Life at Coler
When you first arrive at Coler, our Care Team meets with you to learn about your interests and lifestyle. From this information, we develop an individualized plan of care based on your preferences.
We may ask you about:
- Spoken language preferences
- Kinds of foods you like to eat
- Leisure activities you enjoy
- Physical activity preferences
- Your scheduling preferences for clinic appointments and medications
- Times you like to go to sleep at night and wake up in the morning
- Religious preferences
- Other special requests related to your daily care
We want to keep you safe during your stay at Coler. If your condition limits your participation in certain activities, our Care Team will work with your doctors and Coler staff to find other options. For example, if you are on a soft food diet, we can work with the kitchen to include other foods in a safe manner, such as cutting harder foods up into small pieces so they are easier to swallow.
