At the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCC) COP 28, we signed the Call to Action for Transforming Food Systems for People, Nature, and Climate. The Call to Action was drafted out of the first ever day dedicated to food and climate at COP and 204 non-state actors have signed on to demonstrate their support. The Call to Action asks that we prioritize resiliency in frontline food systems, align food systems with the 1.5°C goal by reducing greenhouse gas emissions and transitioning away from fossil fuel use, and that we change food environments to improve availability, accessibility, and affordability in support of healthy and locally appropriate diets.
