What are the EHSDAs all About?

Every day, your nonprofit works hard to make sure New Yorkers get the services they need. But none of that would be possible without great partners inside city government—people who help get funding moving, manage contracts smoothly, and actually make it easier to do the work that matters.

The Excellence in Human Service Delivery Awards (EHSDAs) celebrate those city agency staff and departments who are raising the bar. Whether they’ve cut through red tape, introduced new ideas, or simply get it when it comes to supporting nonprofits—this is your chance to show them some love.

On May 8, 2025, we’ll honor this year’s winners in a special event filled with recognition, celebration, and connection.

Nominate someone today by completing this form.

Award Categories

If you’re a nonprofit that’s worked with a city agency staff member who truly made a difference, we want to hear about it. Below please find the award categories for which you can nominate a city employee or agency:

  1. Action & Innovation Award - For the creative problem-solver who’s turned ideas into real-world impact. Think new systems, faster processes, or better partnerships—this person made it happen.
  2. Excellence in Customer Service Award - For the government partner who always picks up the phone, responds quickly, and goes the extra mile to help you navigate city systems.

To be eligible to submit a nomination, your nonprofit must:

  • Have worked directly with the nominee within the last 3 years
