Five Ways to Practice Self Love

February is all about feeling the love – but don’t forget about loving yourself! This Valentine’s Day, I plan to do small things to treat myself to some self-love, reflection, and discovery. Here are my top 5 self-love activities! Why not try a few to boost your self-esteem?

Take Yourself on a Date

Make time for YOU and take yourself on a fun and relaxing outing. Treat yourself to a healthy home-cooked dinner, take a class to learn something new, or visit a local museum or park. The possibilities are endless!

Start a Journaling Routine

Journaling is an excellent tool to help you reflect and discover yourself. Grab a piece of paper and pen, open your Notes app or a blank word document, and just start writing.

Need Inspiration?

  • Write a love letter to yourself
  • List 3 things you are grateful for
  • Write about a challenge that you overcame

Practice Self-Love Through Meditation

Practice Self-Love Through Meditation

Meditation is a great way to pause and connect with yourself on a deeper level. Through meditation, you learn to observe your thoughts, and yourself, without judgement. Developing a consistent meditation practice will truly deepen your sense of self-worth.

Create an Accomplishments Collage

Create an Accomplishments Collage

We all have ups and downs in life – but why focus on the downs when we can celebrate the ups? Make an achievement collage to celebrate all that you have accomplished in life. Print out certificates, awards, reference letters, photos and more to create a collage of your proudest moments.

We would love to see your work! Post your collage on Instagram and tag us @workwellnyc.

Make a Feel Good File

Make a Feel Good File

Make a list or keep a file of things that make you feel good. List out your favorite songs, podcasts, and movies and organize them into playlists. You can compile your favorite photos and save them to a computer file – or go old school and store them in a shoe box. Next time you’re feeling down, open your “feel good” file to help you remember all the positive things in your life.
