Get Started

To kick-off the project, please complete the following three steps:

Step 1: Kick-Off Meeting

Contact us to let us know you're interested in a new site or in redesigning your site. We'll schedule a kick-off meeting here at our office. We'll explain agency templates, Content API templates, our process, and we will discuss your ideas and site needs. You'll fill out a new project survey that will help us design a website that is most useful to you and your site visitors. Before the kick-off meeting, please review the "Brainstorm Your Content" section of the NYC.gov Web Content Development Guidelines.

Examples of regular agency templates: NYC Department of Consumer and Worker Protection (DCWP), WildlifeNYC, and Housing Preservation & Development (HPD).

Examples of Content API templates (only to be used by smaller sites): Vision Zero, LeadFreeNYC, and Mayor's Office to Protect Tenants.

Step 2: Site Map Template

If you have an existing website, we'll draft a preliminary site map for you to review and revise. Or, for a new site, map the proposed structure of the pages for your new website in a site map template. Download a regular agency site map template or a Content API site map template. Follow the instructions at the top of the "Navigation" tab. Each cell represents a section or page on your new website. Do not list PDFs or supplemental docs that will be linked to. (Those are content.)

Once you submit your draft site map, we'll review it, and will advise you on best practices. We'll work with you on additional iterations, and will work with you to finalize the site map.

Step 3: Site Colors and Logo

Please send us your agency logo, along with the primary and secondary colors that you would like used on your new website. Note the following:
