Overview of the Process

Overview

We'll guide you through the process from discovery through launch. Each stage has its own tasks and deliverables and focuses on achieving a specific goal. Asterisks (**) indicate an agency deliverable or agency-specific task; all other tasks are a collaboration between us.  


Stage 1: Discovery

The goal of Discovery is to understand the overall purpose, scope, and branding of the agency site.

Tasks & Deliverables

  • Kick-Off Meeting 
  • Project Scope Definition
  • Site Map, Round 1
  • Delivery of agency logo and colors** (primary and secondary) - Logo must comply with the NYC Logo Guidelines. Site colors must meet color contrast minimums.

Stage 2: Design & Content

Design

The goal of Design is to create the basic foundation of the site (the underlying content structure and a Look & Feel consistent with the agency brand).

  • Site Map (Rounds 2 & 3)
  • Site Map Final Sign-off**
  • Look & Feel Development (3 Rounds)

Content

The goal of the Content development phase is to produce and gather all the content for the site.

Stage 3: Production

The goal of Production is to build the actual site.

  • Template Shell Build
  • TeamSite Training on new agency templates**
  • Content Flow** (typically, split between OTI and agency)

Stage 4: Testing & Launch Prep

The goal of Testing is to review and perform quality assurance (Q/A) on the completed site and to prep for launch.

  • Final Design Review
  • Final High-Level, Pre-Launch Review
  • Final Detailed Content Site Review** (Download the site review template)
  • TeamSite Training (if not completed before the build phase)
  • Site Final Sign-off**
  • HTML and Shortcut Redirect Updates**
  • Program Updates**
  • 311 Content Updates**
  • Forms Tested
  • Link Check

Stage 5: Launch

The goal of the Launch phase is to launch your site and make sure that the proper teams are notified of the launch.

  • Program Updates Processed
  • 311 Notified**
  • WebTrends Notified

Post-Launch

The goal of the Post-Launch phase is for you to maintain your site post launch.

  • Keep the content fresh and current.
  • Follow best practices and requirements contained herein.
  • Reach out to us to brainstorm structural changes.
