New contest engages young New Yorkers to take a stand against bias, discrimination, and hate – through art
NEW YORK—The Office for the Prevention of Hate Crimes (OPHC) today announced the launch of its 2023 “HeARTwork Against Hate” art contest and campaign for New York City youth. Participants in grades 3 – 12 will share their voices with communities citywide and use various artforms to express the positive values of respect, unity, and diversity. The campaign is a platform to support local students in building self-esteem and emotional well-being through creative expression.
Winning submissions will be featured on the OPHC website and on digital displays across the city to remind all New Yorkers of the importance of standing together against hate.
