Youth and Education Resources

The Office for the Prevention of Hate Crimes works with the New York City Department of Education to develop resources for educators, students, and families on how to prevent hate.

OPHC and the New York City Department of Education (DOE) provide resources to facilitate important conversations in the classroom. Schools are encouraged to develop opportunities for students to discuss what discrimination and religious intolerance look like in a school and collectively explore the positive actions they can take to promote acceptance, inclusion, and the diversity of their communities.

OPHC and DOE's "Promoting Respect and Addressing Hate Crimes"

Following a spike in COVID-motivated attacks against members of the Asian community, OPHC and the New York City Department of Education (DOE) developed a resource guide for educators to incorporate into lesson plans.
