The Action Plan for Young Adult Career Success seeks to unify, break silos and leverage resources to create, expand, and support robust career pathways for all New York City young people.
Announced by Mayor Adams in December 2023, the Action Plan prioritizes goals and strategies to support the career readiness and successful labor market entry of youth and young adults in New York City with New York City's three largest youth-serving institutions–the NYC Public Schools (NYCPS), City University of New York (CUNY), NYC Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD), along with the Mayor's Office of Talent and Workforce Development (NYC Talent)–collectively developed a strategic Action Plan to guide New York City's efforts to ensure that all its young people reach adulthood well prepared for career success.
The Action Plan leverages resources, services, and expertise across government and the public/private talent and workforce development system to ensure all young people can articulate and pursue rewarding career pathways. It also marks important progress toward our shared vision for NYC’s workforce development system, as outlined in the citywide objectives detailed in Executive Order 22.
