Short-form renewal applications:
Tenants who have been approved for the Rent Freeze Program for at least five consecutive years can renew using a shorter renewal application.
Certification of no renewal lease form
Use this form in place of a lease if you have been unable to obtain a signed lease from your landlord. This form cannot be used for consecutive renewal periods.
The SCRIE and DRIE applications will include a list of the documents that you must provide. These include documents verifying your age, income, residency, and, in the case of DRIE, disability. Submit copies, rather than original documents.
To request more time to submit your Rent Freeze Program application or required documents, you can call 311, write to the Department of Finance, schedule a virtual appointment, or submit a Request for an Extension of Time Due to a Disability or Physical or Mental Impairment. You may need to submit medical documentation supporting your request.
If an extension of time or other request for assistance is approved, you will need to submit all renewal documents and meet all of the program's eligibility requirements.
